Tomato Plants

We raise our tomato plants ourselves in Illmitz, Burgenland, Austria. The focus is on a diverse selection of flavourful, tried-and-tested and unusual varieties – from well-known classics to heirloom tomatoes and special rarities.

If you want to buy tomato plants, your needs will differ depending on your garden, balcony, greenhouse and intended use. That is why our range covers different growth habits, fruit sizes, colours and flavours. You will find robust classics as well as unusual varieties for tomato lovers and hobby gardeners who enjoy trying something new.

Heirloom tomatoes and special classics

Heirloom tomatoes are an important part of our range. Many of these varieties stand out for their distinctive flavour, special colours or unusual fruit shapes. Well-known varieties such as San Marzano, Marmande, Black Cherry, Berner Rose, Oxheart (Cuor di Bue), Green Zebra and the Mexican Honey Tomato complete the selection.

Alongside classic red tomatoes we also grow dark and black tomatoes, striped varieties, and yellow, green and multicoloured types. You will find the special ones in our rare tomatoes. This gives you a selection that goes far beyond the usual standard range.

Beefsteak, cocktail and cherry tomatoes

Different tomato types suit different uses. Large beefsteak tomatoes are especially interesting if you prefer aromatic, meaty fruit. Cherry and cocktail tomatoes are great for snacking, for salads and for a long harvest season.

For balcony and patio we also offer compact-growing tomato plants and small varieties. Many of them grow well in pots, which makes them attractive for gardeners without a large vegetable garden – you will find them in our tomatoes for pots, balconies & patios.

Tomato plants for the kitchen and for preserving

Some varieties are especially good for sauces, preserving and Mediterranean cooking. San Marzano and other elongated tomato types, collected in our Roma & plum tomatoes, are classic examples. Other varieties are grown mainly to be eaten fresh for their special flavour.

Ordering tomato plants online

Pre-orders for our tomato plants open in early January. Plants ship in spring, once the young plants are strong enough and temperatures allow safe transport.

Our variety pages stay online outside the selling season. This way you can already look through the range before pre-orders open and choose your favourites for the coming growing season.
