What makes it special?

Bonte Tigret is a strikingly compact micro-dwarf tomato for small pots, window boxes and sunny window spots. The red-and-gold striped fruit ripens on a low, compact plant with pale green foliage.

At around 25 to 50 cm tall, it suits anywhere with little room for a classic cordon tomato. Pruning isn't necessary.

Flavour & Use

Mildly sweet and pleasantly tomato-like. For eating fresh, salad, a light lunch and snacking straight off the compact plant.

Fruit & Plant

Small, round to lightly oval fruit, ripening red with golden-yellow stripes, usually around 30–50 g. Determinate micro-dwarf growth with a compact fruit set.

Growing & Care

For a sunny, warm spot in a pot from around 5–7 litres. Water evenly and feed moderately. Do not prune; under a heavy fruit load, a short stake or small cage can relieve the shoots.

Bonte Tigret Micro Dwarf tomato plant – an aromatic young plant raised by us

Bonte Tigret Micro Dwarf – character and use

Bonte Tigret Micro Dwarf was developed to be interesting for growing in small spaces: the plant stays low, yet still produces normal-sized, decoratively striped fruit. Its compact growth suits a balcony, patio or a wide windowsill well. The pale green foliage and red-and-gold pattern also make the variety visually distinctive.

Fruit, flavour and harvest

The fruit usually weighs 30 to 50 grams, making it larger than many classic cherry tomatoes. Its mildly sweet, well-balanced flavour suits direct snacking as well as salads and cold dishes. Harvest once the red base colour and golden stripes are clearly formed.

Position and care

A container from around five to seven litres is enough; more soil volume makes even care easier. The spot should be sunny and warm. Since Bonte Tigret grows determinate and compact, it isn't pruned. Only under heavy fruit load is a small support worthwhile. Water evenly, but avoid lasting waterlogging between watering.

A tomato young plant, raised by us

We raise the Bonte Tigret Micro Dwarf tomato plant ourselves at our family business in Illmitz. You'll get a vigorous young plant to start your tomato season. After shipping, it should first stand in a bright, sheltered spot and be gradually acclimatised to direct sun and outdoor conditions. It's only planted out permanently once no more late frosts are expected.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Highly recommended!

Absolutely recommended! I’m completely impressed with this chili plant seller. The quality of the plants is outstanding – strong, healthy, and clearly grown with passion and expertise.

The absolute highlight for me, however, was that this seller is one of the few places that offers my all-time favorite variety, the Lemon Drop chili. I’ve finally found a reliable source for this fantastic variety!

Shipping was fast, and the plants were perfectly packaged, so they arrived in excellent condition. I can wholeheartedly recommend this seller to any chili lover looking for top quality and fast delivery. I will definitely be ordering here again!

#1 Spice supplier

Super friendly service when buying chili plants, and the products are truly excellent. My #1 source for heat :) The ultimate compliment came from an Indian colleague who said that with Tschida chili sauces, he can finally enjoy the level of heat he knows from home here in Europe!

Simply top!

Tschida Tschili – where heat and flavor come together in perfect harmony. The chili products are simply outstanding. I love spicy food, but many products just burn your tongue without delivering any real flavor. With Tschida Tschili, it’s completely different. For an experienced palate, everything is very enjoyable. The flavors are perfectly matched to the level of heat, resulting in truly delicious products.

I visit the farm from time to time as part of my culinary tours with groups. What can I say? Jan and his family are simply the perfect hosts – friendly, authentic, and genuinely local. I always really enjoy visiting you!
