Beefsteak Tomatoes

We raise our beefsteak tomatoes ourselves as young plants in Illmitz, Burgenland, Austria. Many beefsteak tomatoes are characterised by large, meaty fruit and a pronounced flavour. The range runs from tried-and-tested classics to unusual varieties in different colours and fruit shapes.

If you want to buy beefsteak tomato plants, you can choose from varieties with very different characteristics. Some form especially large fruit, others impress with a striking shape, intense colours or an unusual aroma.

Beefsteak tomato varieties from classic to unusual

Beefsteak tomatoes come in numerous shapes and colours. Alongside classic red varieties we also grow pink, white, dark and multicoloured types.

Our range includes, for example, Berner Rose, Cherokee Purple, Costoluto Genovese, Cuor di Bue, Black Krim, Tshernij Prinz and White Oxheart. Special varieties such as Ananas Noire, Indigo Blue Beauty and Purple Sunrise are added to these.

This lets you choose not only by fruit size but also by flavour, colour and intended use.

Oxheart tomatoes and other large-fruited varieties

Oxheart tomatoes are among the best-known beefsteak tomatoes. Their often heart-shaped, meaty fruit make them especially popular for eating fresh and for cooking.

With varieties such as Cuor di Bue and White Oxheart you will find different examples of this tomato type. There are also many other beefsteak tomatoes whose fruit can be round, flattened, ribbed or unusually shaped.

Beefsteak tomatoes for garden and greenhouse

Many beefsteak tomatoes grow into vigorous plants with heavy fruit. A sunny, warm and, if possible, sheltered spot therefore gives good conditions for successful growing.

Ordering beefsteak tomatoes as plants

Pre-orders for our beefsteak tomatoes open in early January. Plants ship in spring, once the young plants are strong enough and temperatures allow safe transport.
