Tiny Tim – special features of the variety
Tiny Tim is an early-ripening, determinate dwarf tomato for small growing areas. The bushy plant stays around 30 to 50 centimetres tall, fitting a sunny windowsill just as well as a pot on a balcony or patio.
Fruit, flavour and use
The small, round cherry tomatoes ripen deep red and usually weigh 10 to 20 grams. Fully ripe, they taste sweet-tart, bold and juicy. Tiny Tim suits snacking, salads, a light lunch, kids' snacks and tomato skewers.
Growing in a bed or pot
A pot from five to ten litres gives the compact plant enough root room. Tiny Tim is not pruned, since the bushy side shoots carry flowers and fruit. Support is usually not needed; a small plant ring suffices under a heavy load. Water evenly and avoid waterlogging.
A tomato young plant, raised by us
We raise the Tiny Tim tomato plant ourselves at our family business in Illmitz. After shipping, the young plant should first stand in a bright, sheltered spot and be gradually acclimatised to direct sun and wind. It only goes outdoors permanently once no more late frosts are expected.
