Cocktail & Cherry Tomatoes

We raise our cocktail and cherry tomatoes ourselves as young plants in Illmitz, Burgenland, Austria. The small fruits are especially popular for snacking, for salads and for fresh cooking. The variety goes far beyond classic red tomatoes.

If you want to buy cocktail or cherry tomato plants, you will find varieties with different colours, shapes and flavours. Alongside sweet and fruity classics, we also grow dark, yellow, green, striped and unusually shaped tomatoes.

Cocktail and cherry tomatoes – small fruits, big variety

The terms cocktail tomato and cherry tomato are not used in exactly the same way everywhere. Cherry tomatoes are usually the particularly small-fruited ones, while cocktail tomatoes often form somewhat larger fruit. In practice, the two names overlap a great deal.

What matters more is the flavour, fruit size, growth habit and use of each variety. That is why you will find both tomato types together in our range, so you can compare the individual varieties directly.

From Black Cherry to the Mexican Honey Tomato

Our range includes well-known varieties such as Black Cherry, Dattelwein and the Mexican Honey Tomato. We also grow special varieties such as Golden Bumblebee, Artisan Pink Bumblebee, Green Zebra Cherry, Indigo Pear Drops and Brad's Atomic Grape.

The fruits can be round, oval, elongated or pear-shaped and ripen in very different colours. It is exactly this variety that makes cocktail and cherry tomatoes so interesting for tomato lovers.

Cocktail and cherry tomatoes for garden, balcony and greenhouse

Many small-fruited tomato varieties produce plenty of fruit over a long period. Depending on the variety, however, they differ considerably in height and space requirements.

Some varieties are especially suited to growing in pots or on a balcony, while vigorous, tall-growing cordon tomatoes need more space and a sturdy support. For deliberately compact plants, you will also find our own selection of patio and balcony tomatoes.

Ordering cocktail & cherry tomatoes as plants

Pre-orders for our tomato plants open in early January. Plants ship in spring, once the young plants are strong enough and temperatures allow safe transport.

Our variety pages stay online outside the selling season. This way you can compare different cocktail and cherry tomatoes and choose your favourites for the coming growing season before pre-orders open.
