What makes it special?

Moneymaker is a historic English salad tomato that lives up to its name with very high yields. It produces numerous round, glossy red fruit and is considered a robust, proven cordon tomato for the home garden and sheltered growing.

Flavour-wise, it delivers classic tomato character: fruity, juicy and well-balanced sweet-tart. It's exactly this mix of yield, straightforward growing and versatile use that has kept it popular for decades.

Flavour & Use

Moneymaker tastes fruity, juicy and well-balanced sweet-tart. Its aroma is classically tomato-like and versatile in use.

We recommend the fruit for salads, on bread, for sandwiches, cold platters and straightforward tomato dishes. Its even, medium fruit size makes the variety especially everyday-friendly.

Fruit & Plant

The round, glossy red fruit typically comes in at around 80 g and ripens evenly without a pronounced green shoulder.

The plant grows vigorously and indeterminate. Depending on location and growing conditions, it can reach around 150–250 cm and produce numerous fruit over a long season.

Growing & Care

Moneymaker prefers a sunny, warm and, where possible, sheltered spot. It suits a greenhouse and polytunnel, but under good conditions also the outdoors.

In a pot, we recommend at least 20 litres, ideally 25–30 litres. Prune side shoots and tie in regularly, water evenly and avoid waterlogging. Feed regularly with tomato or vegetable fertiliser during growth and fruiting.

#1 Spice supplier

Super friendly service when buying chili plants, and the products are truly excellent. My #1 source for heat :) The ultimate compliment came from an Indian colleague who said that with Tschida chili sauces, he can finally enjoy the level of heat he knows from home here in Europe!

Simply top!

Tschida Tschili – where heat and flavor come together in perfect harmony. The chili products are simply outstanding. I love spicy food, but many products just burn your tongue without delivering any real flavor. With Tschida Tschili, it’s completely different. For an experienced palate, everything is very enjoyable. The flavors are perfectly matched to the level of heat, resulting in truly delicious products.

I visit the farm from time to time as part of my culinary tours with groups. What can I say? Jan and his family are simply the perfect hosts – friendly, authentic, and genuinely local. I always really enjoy visiting you!
