Delirio is a rare Capsicum chinense superhot for chilli fans deliberately looking for exceptional, extremely hot varieties. This line is listed as Capsicum chinense with up to 1,000,000 Scoville. We then raise the plants ourselves in Illmitz. You'll find more unusual varieties among our rare chilli plants.
How hot is Delirio?
Delirio reaches up to 1,000,000+ SHU. Based on our own tastings, we definitely classify Delirio as a superhot. When processing, we always recommend gloves, clean equipment and very small doses.
Using Delirio: dosing extreme heat with care
This variety makes sense wherever targeted, intense heat is called for: for example in ferments, chilli oil, dried powder or bold seasoning bases. Small amounts can already be enough.
Growing Delirio in a pot
As a Capsicum chinense, Delirio needs above all warmth, sun and time. We recommend a full-sun, sheltered spot; a greenhouse or a very warm position against a house wall can create especially good conditions in our climate. In a pot, at least 8 litres makes sense, ideally 10 litres. If you have the space, 15–20 litres is ideal. Water evenly, avoid waterlogging, and feed regularly with a suitable tomato or vegetable fertiliser during growth and fruiting.
Delirio is frost-sensitive but can be overwintered frost-free. Since little reliable variety data is publicly available, we deliberately avoid fixed figures for plant height or ripening time that we can't confidently confirm for this specific line.
A superhot rarity for collectors
Growing Delirio means choosing an unusual superhot with real rarity value. If you'd like to compare more plants at the top end of our heat scale, you'll find them among our extremely hot chilli plants. Another visually exceptional rarity is the Pink Tiger.
