What makes it special?

Antho Pink Panther combines compact growth with extraordinarily coloured fruit. The elongated tomatoes ripen pink to raspberry-coloured with yellowish stripes and dark, sun-dependent anthocyanin shoulders.

The variety stays noticeably lower than classic cordon tomatoes, making it well suited to a patio, balcony and smaller gardens. We raise our open-pollinated young plants ourselves in Illmitz.

Flavour & Use

The meaty, rather low-seed fruit tastes sweet-fruity with pleasant acidity. Depending on ripeness and growing conditions, it can turn out juicier or firmer.

Antho Pink Panther suits salads, a light lunch, bread and colourful tomato platters fresh. Thanks to its elongated shape and firm flesh, the variety can also be used for salsa, oven dishes or smaller amounts of sauce.

Fruit & Plant

Antho Pink Panther grows compact to bushy and usually reaches around 80–120 cm. Variety descriptions sometimes list the growth habit as determinate, sometimes as semi-determinate; in practice, what matters most is its noticeably more limited growth compared to tall cordon tomatoes.

The elongated to plum-shaped fruit usually weighs around 30–80 g. Its base colour ranges from pink to raspberry-red and yellow; in sun-exposed spots, dark violet to nearly black anthocyanin colouring develops.

Growing & Care

A full-sun spot encourages the dark anthocyanin colouring. The plant suits a bed, raised bed or a pot from around 15–20 litres.

Don't prune it hard: the compact, bushy structure should be preserved. Only remove shoots that are too crowded or strongly restrict air circulation. A short stake or tomato cage keeps the fruiting shoots upright.

Water evenly from below and keep the leaves as dry as possible. Feed moderately with tomato fertiliser during fruiting.

Antho Pink Panther – a compact tomato with anthocyanin colouring

Antho Pink Panther is a compact-growing tomato rarity with especially striking fruit. Pink, yellowish and dark anthocyanin tones meet a sweet-fruity aroma. We raise our open-pollinated young plants ourselves in Illmitz.

Colour and fruit shape of Antho Pink Panther

The elongated to plum-shaped fruit ripens pink to raspberry-coloured and shows yellowish stripes. Where a lot of sun hits the skin, dark violet to nearly black areas develop. This colouring is typical of the variety and can vary in intensity depending on location.

How does Antho Pink Panther taste?

The tomatoes taste sweet-fruity with pleasant acidity. The flesh is comparatively firm and usually low in seeds. That makes the variety suitable for snacking and salads, as well as for salsa and oven dishes.

A compact tomato plant for balcony and patio

At usually around 80–120 cm, Antho Pink Panther stays manageable. That makes it interesting for spots where tall cordon tomatoes would take up too much room. A pot with 15–20 litres of volume and a short stake are usually enough with good care.

Does Antho Pink Panther need pruning?

We don't recommend strict pruning. The compact, bushy structure carries a good part of the fruit clusters. Only remove awkwardly placed or very dense shoots, so air and light reach the plant.

Position and care

Choose a sunny, warm and, where possible, sheltered spot. Even water supply helps keep fruit quality and growth stable. Water close to the soil, keep the foliage dry, and feed regularly but not excessively during flowering and fruiting.

An open-pollinated young plant from Illmitz

We raise Antho Pink Panther ourselves in Illmitz. The variety combines compact growing, an unusual colour and versatile use – a fitting choice for collectors and for smaller gardens alike.

#1 Spice supplier

Super friendly service when buying chili plants, and the products are truly excellent. My #1 source for heat :) The ultimate compliment came from an Indian colleague who said that with Tschida chili sauces, he can finally enjoy the level of heat he knows from home here in Europe!

Simply top!

Tschida Tschili – where heat and flavor come together in perfect harmony. The chili products are simply outstanding. I love spicy food, but many products just burn your tongue without delivering any real flavor. With Tschida Tschili, it’s completely different. For an experienced palate, everything is very enjoyable. The flavors are perfectly matched to the level of heat, resulting in truly delicious products.

I visit the farm from time to time as part of my culinary tours with groups. What can I say? Jan and his family are simply the perfect hosts – friendly, authentic, and genuinely local. I always really enjoy visiting you!
