Antho Pink Panther is a compact-growing tomato rarity with especially striking fruit. Pink, yellowish and dark anthocyanin tones meet a sweet-fruity aroma. We raise our open-pollinated young plants ourselves in Illmitz.
Colour and fruit shape of Antho Pink Panther
The elongated to plum-shaped fruit ripens pink to raspberry-coloured and shows yellowish stripes. Where a lot of sun hits the skin, dark violet to nearly black areas develop. This colouring is typical of the variety and can vary in intensity depending on location.
How does Antho Pink Panther taste?
The tomatoes taste sweet-fruity with pleasant acidity. The flesh is comparatively firm and usually low in seeds. That makes the variety suitable for snacking and salads, as well as for salsa and oven dishes.
A compact tomato plant for balcony and patio
At usually around 80–120 cm, Antho Pink Panther stays manageable. That makes it interesting for spots where tall cordon tomatoes would take up too much room. A pot with 15–20 litres of volume and a short stake are usually enough with good care.
Does Antho Pink Panther need pruning?
We don't recommend strict pruning. The compact, bushy structure carries a good part of the fruit clusters. Only remove awkwardly placed or very dense shoots, so air and light reach the plant.
Position and care
Choose a sunny, warm and, where possible, sheltered spot. Even water supply helps keep fruit quality and growth stable. Water close to the soil, keep the foliage dry, and feed regularly but not excessively during flowering and fruiting.
